I hope you all had a really nice weekend. It's hard to believe it's already Monday morning. WOW, the weekends go so quickly! Saturday was so nice because David had some time alone to do some yard and house work, the boys got to go swimming, and I got to sneak away to do some knitting. After we all did our thing we hooked back up and had dinner together. How nice!
The weather was FINALLY sunny here on Sunday. We relaxed on the patio till 11, yes I know..what a lazy Sunday morning. We realized we had to get the boys out and do more than vege on the patio all day. So, we went to the their schools baseball field and met some of their friends to hit the baseball for a couple of hours. I played for a little while, but then I snuck down to the track and walked a couple of miles!
Below is what David did saturday while I was knitting. He had a picture that he took while we were on vacation in Colonial Williamsburg enlarged to a 26"x30" print to hang above our couch. This is a picture of a window on the oldest church in the U.S.. The church was founded around 1655, and yes there was a pew designated for George Washington. The boys thought it was so cool to sit where he sat. And the craziest thing..this church is still and active Episcopalian church.
Below is what I have been working on. I started to knit a few months back and wow, I love it. I think I love it so much because it's such a portable craft. I keep it with me all the time, and pull it out anytime that I'm in "waiting" mode. It's perfect for in the car too, while on long trips. We travel to visit family in Maryland quite a bit. I can pick it up and set it down quickly without it being so cumbersome. The knitting store, Dyed in the Wool is doing a preemie baby hat challenge. You make a preemie hat, and when you're finished- you turn it in to the store and they gather all the hats, vote on the cutest and then they donate all the hats to the NICU at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center) Children's Hospital. I thought, what a perfect reason to buy some new yarn, learn to make something new, and best yet..a cute little preemie baby will get to wear it and have it as a keepsake someday.
I'll post the finished hat when I'm all done too, but here is a picture of it so far.
And yes...I even found time to make two more cards. Do you like?
I'm glad I got to share a little this morning before our day get's started. Enjoy your Monday and I hope to share something with you again tomorrow.
